The development will provide 22 affordable cottage-style apartments on a disused brownfield site in the Bickershaw suburb of Wigan.
The site was formerly occupied by St Edward’s Church and Presbytery which closed in 2017. These buildings were demolished and the site cleared in 2020 due to vandalism and anti-social behaviour at the property, and has since remained a disused brownfield site.
The apartments, which will meet high sustainability standards and the Nationally Described Space Standards, will be focused on the social rented sector, providing much needed one-bedroom properties.
